Five double-sided wharves, the first built in 1879, and this is where the whole ferry network starts. Underfoot between the Overseas Passenger Terminal and the Opera House there are sixty metal plaques honouring writers, and under all of it runs the Tank Stream, the creek Sydney was founded on and then buried.
WHY IT’S WORTH IT
1Sixty writers set into the pavement, and nobody looks down.
2The creek Sydney was founded on runs under your feet.
3It is public transport, so the harbour costs the price of a ticket.
