Dixon Street is the spine, a pedestrian mall with paifang gates at each end. On the corner of Hay and Sussex there is a ten-metre eucalyptus trunk painted gold, installed in 1999, placed by feng shui as the entry point to the quarter. And around Campbell Street there is a Thai Town, one of very few officially named anywhere in the world.
WHY IT’S WORTH IT
1A ten metre gold eucalyptus trunk placed by feng shui, made of Australian wood.
2One of the very few officially recognised Thai Towns in the world.
3Two quarters in four blocks, and most visitors only find one.
